Gather with us on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 10am to noon. We meet at Glady's condo in Exeter for chat time and refreshments between 10 and 10:30.

At 10:30 sharp we begin the study with a prayer. This fall, we have workbooks to help us study the Book of Acts, which features the Pentecost scenario (pictured), as well as other stories. Rev. Nancy Rockwell leads the discussion and all are welcome to join in. It is a nice friendly atmosphere, full of nice friendly women. You can drop in at any time. Brown Bag Lunch Duscussion

Lively lunch discussions on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday at 12:05pm! We the People -a free lecture/film series

We the People is a collaboration of three Exeter churches, Congregational, Episcopal, and Unitarian-Universalist, in conjunction with Phillips Exeter Academy, presenting speakers and topics of social, environmental, and community concern. All events encourage you to think about your spirituality in the larger world.

Most of the speakers are also addressing the student assembly at the Academy during the day, and arrangements are made to have them speak at one of the churches in the evening. Please check in our most recent to see what they are offering us this month. Please contact Rev. Nancy Rockwell for more information.

"Feed My Lambs” Food Pantry

Our church food pantry is visited by nearly 25 people each Tuesday from 10 to noon. We have a staff of two people working the small pantry every Tuesday. Occasionally, volunteers are also needed for a variety of tasks, including some heavy lifting, between 1:30 and 6:30 pm.

Don’t have the time to be there? You can still help by simply donating food. The first Sunday of each month we collect non-perishable food at the service. Donations can also be dropped off in the church back foyer in the white wicker chest, or at the church office on Monday—Friday, 9-2pm. Most wanted items always include: Canned meats, fruit juice, boxed cereals, and coffee.

For information speak to Liz Dodge 778-8146 or Sue Bowman 772-2306

Salvation Army Dinners

Exercise your faith by serving a hot meal to less fortunate folks. Every other month our church hosts a dinner for the homeless at the Salvation Army Center in Portsmouth. Both bakers and servers are needed. We serve the fourth Sunday of the even months. For information, speak to  Karen Prior 772-0406.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Knitters meet monthly, or work on their own at home, to create beautiful shawls that have a prayer in every stitch. The church will gift these shawls to those who are coping with sickness or death, or they may give them as a mantle of wisdom to those who have reached a milestone birthday. Over 200 shawls have been made since the beginning of this ministry. For information, call Linda Rousseau. 772-4534.

Lay Visitors Committee

Volunteers visit homebound and/or ill church members. Volunteers share responsibilities for visiting homes and/or nursing homes, and may read to or pray with people, or occasionally take them on an outing. This group meets monthly to update the list and share the news. Our list of people to be visited keeps growing! We now have over 60 people on it. Volunteers are needed now!! For information speak to Rev. Nancy Rockwell. 772-4216.

Petal Pushers - Flower Committee

A large group of talented people adorn our buildings with flowers and other seasonal decor. They try to tie in the church seasons with beautifully scuplted floral and natural arrangements and "pulpit gardens." If you have a talent with flowers, or would like to be part of the excitement, or would just like to donate to the Flower Fund, please call  Jane Winde at 778-9404.

Office Committee

Are you interested in meeting folks and getting to know the workings of the church office? Joining the Office Comittee is a great way to meet people one-on-one while performing small volunteer tasks for the office. We meet each Friday at 9:30am to fold the Sunday bulletins. Call the office at 772-4216. Come join us!
